Debt vs. equity financing is a common debate when raising private capital to buy real estate. Debt gives you a straightforward outlook on how much you owe, how much you’ll pay back, and your repayment schedule. Equity, on the other hand, gives lenders the ability to take a larger portion of the profit and have skin in the game when making decisions about the property. Which one is the smarter move for the active investor or passive lender?
